VenuWorks Inc. recently hosted the VenuWalks Challenge, a company-wide fitness initiative aimed at promoting wellness, camaraderie, and friendly competition across properties nationwide.
The challenge, which ran over the course of 4 weeks, encouraged employees from each venue to form teams and track their daily steps to compete for top honors and prizes. Among 13 participating locations the management company for the Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena, stood out—finishing in second place under the spirited team name "Are We There Yet".
The team at the Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena used their $1000 prize money and donated the full amount to Pelham Strong, a local nonprofit supporting families and individuals in the Pelham community.
“We are incredibly proud of our team—not only for their dedication and effort during the challenge but for choosing to pay it forward to a cause that means so much to our city,” said Seth Greenberg, Executive Director of the Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena.
The top individual stepper from the Pelham was Skate Coach Graham Newberry, who walked an impressive 754,767 total steps, leading the pack with determination and consistency. The other members of the Pelham team were Loredana Cretu, Taylor Kelley, Michele Newberry and Seth Greenberg.
VenuWorks Inc. Vice President and founder of initiative H.R. Cook said “VenuWalks is about more than steps—it’s about building community across our venues. The Pelham team's donation to Pelham Strong is a perfect example of the values we hold as a company.”
The VenuWalks Challenge is expected to become an annual tradition, continuing to unite properties around the country in healthy, meaningful ways.
